The Dockers have offered contracted Collingwood defender James Aish a three-year deal, according to AFL Media's Mitch Cleary.
It is believed that new Dockers coach and former Pies assistant Justin Longmuir has played a big role in trying to recruit the 23-year old.
Collingwood reportedly put Aish on the trade table in a bid to clear salary, with several big-name players set to come out of contract next year, including Brodie Grundy, Jordan De Goey and Darcy Moore.
"Of all the players on Collingwood’s list this year that are moveable, I reckon (Matthew) Scharenberg and (James) Aish are the two players that are most likely and easiest to lose," Cleary told Telstra AFL Trade Radio.
"I think (Josh) Noble and (Isaac) Quaynor can come in a replace Aish. Of anyone that has been mooted, he is far more replaceable than a Tom Phillips.
"From Collingwood’s perspective, he (Aish) wouldn’t be on extraordinary money for his final year of 2020, but it is some money they can move off the books."
Aish was traded from Brisbane to Collingwood in 2015 in a busy three-way deal including North Melbourne. The Pies surrendered picks No.26, 28, 47 and a 2016 second-round pick and received Aish and pick No.34 and 53.
As he is currently contracted, Collingwood and Fremantle would have to facilitate a trade.
The Dockers hold picks 7, 22, 79, 83 in the upcoming draft.
