A three-way deal involving West Coast, North Melbourne and Port Adelaide has been raised as a possible way for Young Roo Jason Horne-Francis to make his way to South Australia.

Reports from Fox Footy suggest that West Coast could trade their no.2 pick to North Melbourne, with the Power then sending pick no.8 and a future first-rounder to the Eagles to obtain Horne-Francis.

The 19-year-old is keen to make his way to South Australia, with Port Adelaide reportedly his preferred destination, after just one season with the Kangaroos since being drafted with the number one pick in 2021.

Fox Footy's David Zita discussed the potential trade on Wednesday evening, revealing how North Melbourne could end up with picks 1 and 2 in this year's draft in exchange for Horne-Francis.

“There's a deal being thrashed out at the moment between West Coast, Port Adelaide and North Melbourne," Zita said on Trading Day.

“What it would result in ... the Eagles would drop from pick 2 to pick 8, but they'd get a future first-round pick, which comes in a draft next year that has got a lot of WA talent in the top end.

“Port Adelaide would get Jason Horne-Francis and Junior Rioli, and North Melbourne would end up - in addition to Pick 1 which they already have - would have pick 2, plus some other picks later in the draft would be sorted out, and potentially a player as well.

“But they'd have pick 1 and pick 2 in this year's draft, which is a fair result for them given they're losing someone who's a No.1 draft pick.”
