Geelong trio Jackson Thurlow, Jordan Murdoch and Daniel Menzel have been advised to explore opportunities at opposition clubs during the trade period.
The futures of the three Cats remain up in the air as none have yet to be offered new deals for 2019.
Menzel kicked 15 goals in the opening five games of the season, before a groin injury sidelined him for three months.
Foxfooty.com.au reported in August that St Kilda was interested in acquiring the forward, but their interest is now unclear as they focus on Sydney midfielder Dan Hannebery, Melbourne's Dean Kent and Richmond premiership player Jacob Townsend.
Jackson Thurlow managed only seven games this season and was left frustrated by the lack of opportunities at senior level. It is understood he is attracting interest from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
He could join teammate Lincoln McCarthy at the Lions next season, with the small forward seeking a fresh start under Chris Fagan.
Midfielder George Horlin-Smith is also set for a move to the Suns, with Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew last month confirming the Suns interest in the 25-year-old.
“We’re obviously interested [in Horlin-Smith],” Dew said on SEN's Whateley.
“We know he has come from a good system, he’s durable, he’s a pro and he might be looking for a greater opportunity."
The Cats look set to be major players in this years trade period.
Western Bulldogs midfielder Luke Dahlhaus is expected to officially nominate Geelong as his preferred club of choice when the free agency period kicks off on Friday, while Sydney's Gary Rohan has declared through his manager that he would only be interested in playing for Geelong if he is to leave the Swans.
