Collingwood star Brodie Grundy will be looking to secure a lengthy contract extension with the Pies, as a six or seven-year deal may get a deal done, reports the Herald Sun.

The Pies have held talks with the superstar ruckman, as a rumoured two-year deal worth $1 million per season has been discussed.

Grundy will enter his contract season in 2020, as he may look to hold out for a long-term deal as a return home to South Australia is in contention.

Adelaide coach Don Pyke revealed the Crows would pursue Grundy's signature if the All-Australian ruckman becomes available next season.

The Collingwood big man has bolstered his asking price within the last 18 months, as his dominant season continues to back-up a spectacular 2018 season in the black and white.

Grundy could break the $1.5 million a year barrier, but will have to look away from the Holden Centre if he is to cash in on his position as one of the league's best players.
