Gold Coast is circling forgotten Richmond midfielder Anthony Miles, 26, in an attempt to bolster its on-ball depth.

Callum Twomey of AFL.com.au reports the out of favour midfielder has met with the Suns in an attempt to provide Miles with regular AFL opportunities.

Miles, a contested ball specialist, has been unable to break into the Richmond line-up as a regular player over the past two years, and is understood to be searching for new opportunities.

After being replaced in the Richmond team by Dion Prestia and Josh Caddy, Miles was omitted to the VFL, where he has continued in his reputation as a clearance specialist.

Miles' singular AFL game this year took place in round 12 when he collected 20 disposals and kicked one goal in their loss to Port Adelaide.

A move to Gold Coast would provide opportunities for regular first-team football for Miles, as the Suns aim to enhance their pool of talent.

Other options that Gold Coast are considering include Swans pair Nic Newman and Jake Lloyd, Bulldog Mitch Wallis, Collingwood’s Adam Oxley and Geelong’s George Horlin-Smith.
