St Kilda is reportedly set to unveil ex-rookie Jarryn Geary as the club's new captain for the 2017 season.
Fairfax Media reports that Geary, 28, will be announced the side's skipper in the coming days, following Nick Riewoldt's decision to step down at the end of last season.
Veteransย Riewoldt, Leigh Montagna and Sean Dempster, who were all part of the leadership group in 2016, are said to have withdrawn themselves from contention for the club's new look, youthful leadership team, when the players voted.
Riewoldt captained St Kilda for 10 consecutive seasons.
