Richmond is set for "a very active trade period" according to Channel Seven AFL reporter, Tom Browne.

The Tigers look set to overhaul their list after a hugely disappointing 2016 campaign, on the back of three consecutive finals appearances from 2013 to 2015.

Speaking on FM radio station Gold 104.3 on Friday morning, Browne said as many as 20 Richmond players will be out of contract at the end of this season, with the Tigers in no hurry to re-sign the majority of them.

Reece Conca is understood to already be looking for a new club, with Fremantle said to be interested in the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, Sydney may also be keen, should Tom Mitchell leave the Swans.

"(Shaun) Grigg I think has been offered a year, but they're reluctant to re-contract those other guys at this stage, which means they're keeping their options open...it's going to be a very active trade period down there," Browne said.

Conca has played 78 games for Richmond since making his debut in 2011, but has managed just four games for the Tigers this season. He was selected with No.6 pick in the 2010 National Draft.
