Port Adelaide has emerged as a serious contender for the signature of out-of-contract Brisbane star Tom Rockliff.
Rockliff, a restricted free agent at seasons end, is yet to commit to the Lions with foxfooty.com.au reporting the Power have pressed their claims to secure the services of the Lions' two-time best and fairest winner.
Port Adelaide are not the only club vying for Rockliff's services, who is averaging 25 disposals and 6.4 tackles per game in 2017.
Rockliff, who will be 28 by the time round one rolls around in 2018, is in the prime of his career and will be looking to cash in on the recent spike in the salary cap in what will be the final big contract of his career.
Brisbane's offers to their former captain are reportedly set to be well below a figure that a player of Rockliff's standing in the game would command on the open market. Despite this, talks have recently recommenced between the two parties.
As a restricted free agent, Brisbane will have the chance to match an offer from any club, should they table one to their gun midfielder.
“The most important factor for me is going to be my family, and what’s most important for me, (partner) Sharna and the young fella when he comes out,” Rockliff told AFL Media in July.
“That’s a selfish way to look at it, but I think you’ve got to do what’s right for yourself … (and) who knows what they (Brisbane) want?”
Rockliff has played 16 games for Brisbane in 2017, and is averaging 25.1 disposals, 5.3 marks, 7.2 clearances and 6.4 tackles per game this season.
