Gold Coast are "confident" they'll be able to bring both Shaun Burgoyne and Brandon Ellis to the club during the upcoming trade period.

According to AFL Nation's Mitch Cleary, both Burgoyne and Ellis look set to depart Victoria at season's end, and will both accept deals to be on the Gold Coast next season.

The move up north would likely see Burgoyne reach the elusive 400-game milestone, while Ellis would join former teammates Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis at the Suns, and would be slot straight into their midfield.

“Shaun Burgoyne was up on the Gold Coast during the week looking at schools for the kids," Cleary said on SEN on Friday night.

"I reckon a big part of this is the push for 400. Right now, the Suns are pretty confident in pulling this one off, it’s just a matter of whether he wants to pull the kids out of Melbourne.

“The Gold Coast are pretty confident on [Brandon Ellis].

"There’s a few clubs sniffing around here in Melbourne, but I think they’ve got the most money on the table for Ellis.

"Ellis won’t be at Richmond next year.”

Ellis has been named for the Tigers' qualifying final against Brisbane on Saturday night at the Gabba.
