Richmond are keeping a close eye on young Brisbane forward Josh Schache with the 19-year-old out of contract at the end of this season.

Schache was taken with the second pick of the 2015 AFL National Draft, and is yet to re-sign with the Lions, with Richmond reportedly keen on his services.

Herald Sun journalist Jay Clark told Triple M radio the Tigers were hunting Schache, as they look to add a tall into their forward line.

"Brisbane key forward, number two draft pick Josh Schache (is) not yet re-signed at Brisbane," Clark said.

"He's the next big thing of their forward line...they can't re-sign him.

"Richmond is the club which is circling this gun forward.

"Of course they've got (Ben) Griffiths and (Jack) Riewoldt, they're looking for the next spearhead."

The young Brisbane forward played 17 games for the Lions in his debut season last year, and booted 16 goals.
