Former St Kilda great Danny Frawley has revealed that Melbourne have sat down with Blues skipper Marc Murphy's management to chat about a potential move to the Demons next season.
The 30-year old comes out of contract at the end of this season, and Frawley says the Demons as well as the Cats are keen to lure him over.
“There’s a side here tonight, Melbourne, they’re looking closely at Murphy as well,” he told the AFL Nation pregame show on Friday.
“Melbourne and Murphy’s management have had a bit of a chat.
“Geelong is starting to like the fact that Marc Murphy hasn’t signed yet at Carlton as well.
“He’d be a great get for any clubs, look at Bryce Gibbs at Adelaide.”
Murphy is currently sidelined with a foot injury but is expected to return to the field in the coming weeks.
The Blues may need to start winning games soon to convince their star midfielder to recommit to the club beyond 2018.
