Youngster Karl Amon will search for more playing opportunities in a senior side as Port Adelaide consider to release the contracted player.

The 23-year-old has played a total of 42 games in five seasons at the club as he wants a fresh start, according to AFL.com.au.

With a big pool of South Australian talent coming out of this year's draft, the Power are trying to make room on their current playing list.

With Jared Polec most likely to leave, Amon will be fighting for a wing spot against Dom Barry next year.

There are even whispers saying that Jack Watts might play a wing role in order for him to get up the ground more.

Amon's first game this season was in Round 4 against Essendon. He played four straight games due to a concussion during the round seven clash against West Coast.

The 68th pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft got recalled in Round 17 and in round 18 he injured his right knee which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Amon went in for surgery to heal a lateral meniscus tear, but is due to return to running at the start of pre season.

This sets up Port Adelaide for a busy trade period.

The Kangaroos are offering up their first round pick (Pick 10) for star winger Jared Polec.

The only thing the Roos want is a second or third round pick in return from Port Adelaide.

Star forward, Chad Wingard is being heavily targeted by quite a few Victorian based sides.

Wingard is contracted for next season but will be a restricted free agent by the end of 2019. The Power are set to receive more by trading Wingard this year then if they let him walk out the club next year.

Defenders Jack Hombsch and Jasper Pittard are contracted at the footy club but are gettable if the right trade comes their way.
