Richmond youngster Sydney Stack is closing in on a two-year extension with the Tigers, after joining the club in February earlier this year.

Stack signed a nine-month contract with Richmond as the club's pre-season signing, but has gone on to become a valued contributor under Damien Hardwick playing 11 straight games since making his debut in round three.

"We are working through the specifics of an offer for Syd at the moment," Stack's manager Cameron Read told AFL.com.au.

"Richmond has done a fantastic job in supporting him, he's very happy there and keen to remain given the faith they have showed in him."

The 19-year-old has averaged 17.3 disposals, 5.6 marks, 3.2 tackles and 2.3 inside 50s per game this season.
