Former Gold Coast and Carlton forward Levi Casboult has landed at the local level after calling time on his AFL career, joining Queensland side Palm Beach Currumbin.
Casboult will remain in the Sunshine State in the wake of his Suns departure, having retired after 198 matches in the top flight.
The 34-year-old spent the last three seasons of his 15-year career with Gold Coast, having found a career lifeline at Carrara after being delisted by the Blues at the cessation of the 2021 season.
Casboult reached career-best form with the Suns, booting 59 goals in his first two years with the club before managing just three appearances in 2024.
The big-bodied key forward played a total of 154 games in the navy blue for a return of 156 goals.
He will now suit up for Palm Beach Currumbin in the QAFL for 2025 while featuring as an assistant coach to former St Kilda midfielder David Armitage at the Lions.
"Palm Beach Currumbin AFC is thrilled to announce that AFL veteran Levi Casboult will join the Lions for the 2025 season as both a player and Senior Assistant Coach," a club post read.
"With an outstanding AFL career spanning 197 games for Carlton and the Gold Coast Suns, Levi is renowned for his elite contested marking, versatility, and leadership on and off the field. Levi's extensive AFL experience and leadership qualities will bring unparalleled value to the maroon, blue, and gold, strengthening the Lions both on and off the field.
"Levi's dual role will see him dominate on the field while mentoring and shaping the future of PBC's next generation of talent."
Palm Beach Currumbin finished fifth in the QAFL in 2024 after recording 11 wins and seven defeats, exiting the finals race with a semi-final loss to grand finalists Redland.
