Free agency is always a hot talking point in AFL circles and 2021 is no different.
Some of the game's biggest names are out of contract at the end of the season and have the option to see what their worth is on the open market. Amazingly, of the 126 free agents, 118 of them are unrestricted.
Restricted free agents are somewhat at the mercy of their current club, who have the right to match a rival offer to retain that player and then potentially force a trade.

There are some massive names yet to re-commit to their clubs for 2022 and beyond, with the likes of Zach Merrett, Josh Kelly and Jack Billings all out of contract.
Carlton co-captain Patrick Cripps and his Western Bulldogs counterpart Marcus Bontempelli are also out of contract at the end of the season but both seem likely to re-commit to their respective clubs.
