Richmond has named Ben Serpell as the new high-performance manager for the 2025 season, coming across from Geelong.

Serpell has worked in a professional sports environment since 2008, taking on roles at the Cats, Wallabies, NSW Waratahs, Australian Institute of Sport, University of Canberra, Brumbies Rugby and Port Adelaide.

Serpell played a significant role in Geelong's 2022 premiership triumph where he was the strength and conditioning coach.

Noticeably, Chris Scott's men adopted a higher-pace brand of football that tested the opposition's aerobic capacity as well as their power running.

Richmond General Manager, Football Performance- Tim Livingstone, said that Serpell had a proven track record in performance enhancement.

“Ben has delivered results in competitive settings across various codes and with many different athletes,” he said.

“He is incredibly well-researched, always looking to be innovative, and has a great blend of leadership, work ethic, and insights.

“We are delighted to bring Ben to the Club, and he will be a great asset to our players and the entire football department.”

It comes as the club promoted former Richmond player Steven Morris to an AFL role, standing alongside Adem Yze as an assistant coach.

The Tigers will need to replace Kane Lambert, who has departed the club to pursue a career away from football.

Richmond - and the AFL world - are mourning the passing of the club's National Recruiting manager Chris Toce, who tragically lost his life to cancer.
