Richmond AFLW player Jess Hosking has been charged by Queensland Police after allegedly driving a jet-ski while intoxicated during an off-season trip to Queensland.

Richmond has been made aware of the incident and reported it to the AFL, who have not yet issued a statement.

"Hosking has been charged for driving a jet-ski while under the influence of alcohol," the club said in a statement, viaย The Age.ย

"The AFL has been informed of the incident and as this matter is currently under investigation by Queensland Police we are unable to make any further comment."

Hosking recently made headlines after she was issued a 'please explain' by the AFL last month over an offensive message written on her shoulder strapping.

Hosking apologised to the AFL for the matter, which was confirmed in a statement released by the league.

"The AFLย issued a please explain toย Richmond'sย Jess Hoskingย after an inappropriate message was written on her shoulder strapping during theย Richmondย andย North Melbourne final last weekend," the statement read.

"Hosking was extremely remorseful and deeply disappointed in her actions. The AFL has since accepted a letter of apology from Jess and has issued an official warning to the club and Jess regarding the offensive language."

It is a disappointing end to the year for the 27-year-old, who celebrated her 50th AFLW game in Richmond's semi-final loss to North Melbourne this year.

Hosking is currently in Queensland with fellow teammates including her identical twin sister Sarah, onballer Grace Egan and All-Australian defender Eilish Sheerin.
