Richmond have confirmed the departure of physical performance manager Luke Meehan following the conclusion of the club's 2024 season.

The decision for the two parties to part ways comes after a Tigers campaign that was significantly impacted by setbacks, both soft-tissue and structural.

Richmond had just one player feature in all 23 games under coach Adem Yze this year, with dashing defender Daniel Rioli the most durable to see out the entire season in the yellow and black.

The injury crisis that hit Punt Road forced Yze into selecting 42 different players across the season - the most of any club, with no other side requiring more than 40.

Richmond football boss Tim Livingstone thanked Meehan for his service to the club in confirming his departure on Monday.

โ€œLuke has been a valued member of our football program for more than a decade, and his expertise has been a key part of what we have achieved as a Club,โ€ Livingstone said in a statement.

โ€œHaving concluded the season, Luke has decided he is ready for a change, and has informed us that he will look at different opportunities for 2025 and beyond.

โ€œWe thank Luke and his family for all they have given to the Club and wish them all the best for the future.โ€

Meehan joined the Tigers from the Western Bulldogs over a decade ago and had held a position with Geelong prior to switching from Whitten Oval.

He took over the physical performance lead role from the departed Peter Burge following the 2022 season.
