Richmond has given the green light for Jacob Blight, Kaleb Smith and James Trezise to go around for one more year, signing the trio for the 2025 season.

Blight and Trezise were both plucked during the mid-season drafts and have impressed during their time at Punt Road, with the latter earning a spot after being elevated from the VFL program in 2023.

Trezise has featured in seven matches throughout 2024, averaging 13.7 disposals, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.9 marks per game.

Like his now teammate, Blight was also taken as a mid-season selection, joining the club in May as a key defender.

The 22-year-old Western Australian debuted within a month of joining the Tigers and showed promising signs as the future of the club.

Last but not least is Smith, who, unlike his recently re-signed teammates, was taken in the 2022 National Draft with Pick 49.

The 19-year-old has played four games to date and will be looking to add more in 2025.

Richmond GM of Football Talent- Blair Hartley said the club looked forward to seeing what the trio could achieve in 2025, having all taken steps forward this season.

โ€œHaving started the season in the WAFL, Jacob was very soon after playing on some of the competition's best forwards at the MCG, and he did not look out of place,โ€ Hartley added.

โ€œHe showed some exciting traits and will benefit from his first pre-season with us this summer, working closely with his new teammates and coaches.

โ€œJames showed that he is a player who can contribute at AFL level, and he should take great confidence from the run of games he was able to play after his injuries earlier in the season.

โ€œAs a young player, he showed great temperament and AFL traits when called upon this year, and he too will benefit greatly from another pre-season.

โ€œKaleb adds a lot with his speed, kicking, and versatility, so it was great to see him play some football after what would have been a frustrating year on the sidelines for him in 2023.

โ€œHis attitude has remained first-class, and he has now been able to get some continuity into his body, which will hold him in great stead.

โ€œHaving had a taste of AFL footy, it is exciting to see Kaleb, as well as the other two boys, well placed for a strong year in 2025.โ€

The re-signing comes in through an air of change at Punt Road, with premiership legends Dustin Martin and Dylan Grimes hanging up their boots.

Shai Bolton, Liam Baker and Daniel Rioli have all been confirmed to have requested trades to rival clubs while Jack Graham is weighing up a move to West Coast.

However, defender Nathan Broad has pledged his allegiance to the club after knocking back rival interest to remain at the Tigers.
