Fringe Richmond ruckman Samson Ryan has been offered a one-game suspension by the VFL's Match Review Panel, with the young Tiger likely to avoid a ban via an early guilty plea.
Ryan has been charged with rough conduct for a high bump on Sandringham's Jet Peckett during Saturday's win over the Zebras at RSEA Park, with the MRP grading the 24-year-old's actions as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.
The charge holds a base sanction of a one-game suspension, however an early plea would allow Ryan to be available for selection this week and instead walk away with a $500 fine and a reprimand.
A challenge of the charge would risk the suspension being upheld and would rule Ryan out of playing at both AFL and VFL level this weekend, with the Tigers scheduled to face Brisbane at both levels on Saturday.
Ryan has enjoyed a positive start to 2025 at the state league level, booting four goals in his two appearances against Coburg and Sandringham as a ruck-forward hybrid.
The VFL's MRP handed down two further charges from Round 2, with Essendon's Will Setterfield and Werribee's Jack Riding both hit with careless umpire contact offences.
Setterfield has been offered a $300 fine and a reprimand as base sanction penalty, while Riding has been handed a $150 fine and a reprimand.
Both players can remove the monetary penalty and accept just the reprimands by lodging early pleas.
