Richmond premiership star Dion Prestia may miss Friday night's clash with Geelong after suffering a rib injury against Collingwood.
The 25-year old copped a big hit from Pies veteran Travis Varcoe on Saturday afteroon but played out the game.
The gun midfielder had scans on Sunday to determine the severity of the injury and there is every chance the Tigers play it safe and don't risk him this weekend.
“He copped a big hit on the weekend and he’s got some sore ribs,” Sam McClure told SEN Breakfast.
“My understanding is he went in for scans yesterday and it’s one of those things that the Tigers and Dion won’t like being talked about.
“It’s similar to last year when Patrick Dangerfield had two broken ribs and was trying to hide it as much as possible, and Scott Pendlebury the year before had two fractured ribs and Nathan Buckley didn’t want to talk about it, because it makes him an easy target for opposition players.
“They will see how bad it is, he’ll probably train with a guard and see if he can get up for this week.”
Prestia has played nine games this season after struggling through hamstring and calf problems.
