Richmond forward Judson Clarke will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after rupturing his ACL in the VFL on Saturday.
In a game against Werribee this weekend, the 20-year-old hurt his right knee and was seen limping from the field following a long-range set-shot goal.
The setback is one Clarke has faced before, having previously injured his same ACL as a junior prior to being drafted by the Tigers.
"We are all feeling for Judson, who works so hard behind the scenes, to give himself the best chance to perform," Richmond football boss Tim Livingstone said in a club update.
"Unfortunately, Judson injured his knee yesterday in the VFL game at Werribee.
"Our Club will support Judson to return fitter and stronger next season. We know he will attack his rehab with great energy and commitment."
Saturday's game for the Tigers' reserves for Clarke's second appearance in the VFL for the year, with the former Pick 30 selection managing one game so far this season at senior level under Adem Yze.
Clarke was the tactical sub in the club's Round 2 clash with Port Adelaide, where he recorded four touches and two marks in just 19% game time.
The agile small forward has played 17 games at AFL level for Richmond since being drafted in 2021.
He joins fellow third-year Tiger Josh Gibcus in being sidelined for the rest of this season with an ACL injury.
