Could out-of-contract Port Adelaide star Charlie Dixon be on the move at season's end?
Of all people to have mail, Crows football director Mark Ricciutio reports that a rival club is showing strong interest in the gun forward, hinting at one of the Queensland teams.
Dixon began his career at the Gold Coast Suns where he played five seasons from 2011 to 2015 before getting traded to the Power.
While Ricciuto did say he expects the the 29-year old to stay at Port, he reports that one club is seriously interested in him.
"There's very strong interest from a side. Let's just say he could get a tan where he might be going," Ricciuto said on Triple M Adelaide'sĀ Roo and Ditts this morning.
Co-host of the morning program Chris Dittmar questioned: "So going back to where he came from?"
Ricciuto replied: "I'm not saying he's going back to where he came from. Well that state, potentially. I'm not saying he's going by the way, I'm just saying they've got very strong interest."
Dixon is enjoying a career-best season, sitting fifth in the Coleman Medal race with 23 goals for the ladder-leading Port Adelaide.
Ricciuto added that the alleged club could table a contract of up to four years in a bid to lure him across.
With Dixon set to turn 30 years old next month, a four-year deal would see him through to 34.
"I hope he stays and he loves Ken Hinkley and he's got a great footy side with lots of young players. But watch this space."
