Essendon youngster Brayden Ham is believed to be attracting "preliminary interest" from a number of rival clubs as the Bombers continue to battle a several ending contracts.

Ham has played 15 games for the Bombers since joining the club via the 2018 National Draft, with Essendon taking the utility with 72nd overall selection.

Speaking on the Fox Footy Podcast, journalist Tom Morris reported clubs are interested in the pacey Bomber.

“He hasn’t re-signed for next year and is just attracting some preliminary interest from some clubs who need some running players,” he said.

“Think Melbourne, St Kilda, Collingwood and clubs like that. I’m sure that these clubs and others are just asking the question of where that’s at. He’s a bit down the pecking order not unlike Harry Perryman at GWS when there’s big fish that need to fall these players get put on the back-burner.

“I think he’ll probably still stay but it doesn’t mean other clubs aren’t considering what it would take to get him in either by a trade that wouldn’t cost a lot of even a delisted free agent if the Bombers decide they can’t afford to keep him.”
