Adelaide is reportedly the favourite to sign GWS defender Isaac Cumming, although a late charge from cross-town rivals Port Adelaide could get in their way.

Cumming has missed the majority of the year through injury, dealing with multiple calf and hamstring issues.

Despite the Giants tabling an offer, the 25-year-old is understood to be exploring a move to South Australia, a state where he has ties.

It was reported that Cumming was offered a four-year deal to stay put.

"Port Adelaide have also come late to snare Isaac Cumming, but the Crows are in the box seat โ€“ could be as much as a five-year deal from the Crows," SEN's Sam Edmund said.

โ€œAt Adelaide, it's shaping up to be an active trade period when you factor in Jack Lukosius andย Alex Neal-Bullenย as well.โ€

The Crows have been categoric in their stance on bringing in established players, hence their interest in Lukosius and Neal-Bullen to help bolster their list.

However, what makes the situation interesting is that Cumming's teammate Harry Perryman is also weighing up a move to the Power, whilst Hawthorn is also in the mix.

Perryman has a six-year deal ready for him to sign with the Giants but is understood to be not too pleased with the accompanying dollar figure.

Port Adelaide's interest in both GWS defenders comes as All-Australian Dan Houston is eager to head back to his home state of Victoria, potentially opening a vacancy in the backline.

Both Cumming and Perryman are unrestricted free agents, and if they opt to leave, the Giants won't be able to match any bid from a rival club.
