Fremantle has been confirmed to have shown interest in out-of-contract Carlton forward Jack Martin.

Martin has battled with injuries across his 11 years in the competition, which has cruelled his ability to impact games on a consistent basis.

The West Australian was originally drafted by Gold Coast in 2012 but was traded to the Blues ahead of the 2020 season.

However, given the lack of talk surrounding Carlton's public desire to extend his time at Ikon Park, rival clubs are beginning to circle, with it being understood that the Dockers are willing to chuck their hat in the ring.

Fremantle are looking to bolster their forward line with matchwinners, reflected by their heavy interest in Richmond's Shai Bolton.

At his best, Martin is a connector between the midfield and the forward line whilst also claiming the third-tall position in the front half.

Injuries have denied the 29-year-old the ability to tear seasons apart but have shown glimpses in spurts, including Carlton's finals series last year.

The Dockers hold a very strong draft hand that they could use on Martin and Bolton while also entertaining Liam Baker as another potential option.

Given the former Sun's inability to remain on the park consistently, a trade, pending the Blues would be for it, won't cost Fremantle too much.

Fremantle could potentially use Pick 26 or tuck into a future selection.

It is very unlikely they would use one of their three first-round selections on Martin.
