Port Adelaide consider themselves not at the "front of the queue" for GWS star Harry Perryman's signature despite being long linked to a move to Alberton.
Perryman is being courted by Hawthorn and Collingwood, with the latter charging into calculations in recent days, reportedly offering permanent minutes in the midfield and a lengthy deal.
However, it was understood for a while that the Power was the likely landing spot, which has changed according to Power GM of Football Chris Davies.
"It's an interesting one, (there's plenty) still to play out," Davies said on Thursday.
"I'm not sure that we're at the front of the queue. It's not to say we haven't tried. We're happy to put ourselves out there and have a crack.

"Harry's a good player. But equally, we get a few of our guys back that we didn't have at the end of last year (and we'll be right)."
Two-time All-Australian Dan Houston's name continues to circulate around the trade talk tables as his intention to return to Victoria was made clear in his exit meeting, as has ruckman Ivan Soldo.
Houston is contracted until the end of 2027 meaning Port Adelaide hold the whip hand, whilst clubs are gearing up to make their offers.
"I think with regard to Dan, and the trade period, we have never come out and suggested what we think we need (to facilitate a trade)," Davies said.
"There are so many permutations that can happen for any player... Dan obviously has to give us an indication of where he might be willing to go but at the same time, (the club) will need to be able to satisfy us."
The same goes for wantaway Gold Coast swingman Jack Lukosius, who has nominated the Power as his desired destination.
"Jack has said to us that he wants to get to Port Adelaide," Davies said.
"And our challenge now is to work with the Gold Coast in order to make that potentially happen.
"We haven't engaged overly much with the Gold Coast as to what they might want but there's still a week and a half to go before the trade period and we will get a better sense of that over that point in time.
"But we are ultimately pleased that Jack wants to land here, he's a good player who we've obviously been tracking for a decent period of time."
Port Adelaide Chief Medical Officer Mark Fisher will also vacate his position to work in a lessor role behind incoming chief Dr Jaeger Wylie.
Former Power physiotherapist Tim Parham was also confirmed by Davies to be re-joining the club after a three-year stint at Adelaide.
Parham has shown longevity at high-end roles, working with Sturt (2009-2011) in the SANFL, GWS (2011-2014), Port Adelaide (2014-2018), English football team Arsenal (2018-2020), the Crows (2020-2024) and now back at Alberton.
