Two confirmed pick-swap trades threw a spanner in the 2024 AFL Trade period, while a powerhouse club renewed its interest in wantaway Port Adelaide star Dan Houston.
North Melbourne's offer for Caleb Daniel was rejected as an uncontracted Hawk is eyeing an AFL lifeline.
Here's all the latest trade news from day six of the 2024 AFL Trade Period...
Former Pick 6 Denver Grainger-Barras is hopeful of receiving an AFL lifeline at Carlton, but it will be after the trade period.
It is understood that Grainger-Barras won't be offered a new contract at Hawthorn and, therefore, could be signed as a delisted free agent or pre-season supplemental player.
It would add depth to the Blues, helping bolster its defensive profile that surrounds itself around Jacob Weitering.
Carlton delisted Caleb Marchbank but still holds Lewis Young, Sam Durdin and Mitch McGovern on their last, with the latter battling injuries over the past few seasons.

Carlton is in the fray with Picks 12 and 14, both acquired in a recent swap with Hawthorn.
The Blues could potentially sway Port's decision by packaging these picks into a tempting trade offer for Houston, although they may prefer to retain at least one first-round selection in the upcoming draft.
This approach would give Carlton flexibility, especially if the other clubs' negotiations for Houston stall.

The Kangaroos put forward Pick 25 for Daniel and Pick 48, according to Channel 9's Tom Morris.
It is understood that the Dogs quickly turned down the offer for the contracted All-Australian.

SEN's Sam Edmund has ruled out Matthiew Owies from being at Carlton in 2025, with the club yet to offer him a new contract.
Despite kicking 60 goals in the past two seasons, it is understood that the Blues aren't willing to pay the asking price that Owies - and his management - have put forward.
And with list spots at a premium, Jesse Motlop, Corey Durdin, Ashton Moir and Orazio Fantasia have reportedly been favoured, with the latter contracted for 2025.
Edmund believes that a trade will be brokered between Gold Coast or West Coast for his services.

The Kangaroos have been keen to add experienced campaigners who can drive standards and add a level of excellence to the club.
However, Maynard swiftly denied the advances by the rebuilding club.

It is understood that in Collingwood's attempt to bolster its midfield group, it has eyed off out-of-favour Brisbane youngster Deven Robertson, who has been exploring his options.
Robertson looked at his future with West Coast lurking during 2023 but opted to sign a two-year extension at the Lions.
However, starved of opportunities due to Will Ashcroft's return, and with his brother, Levi, and Sam Marshall set to join the club in next month's draft, the writing appears on the wall.
A report suggested that if the Pies cannot broker a deal to lure Port Adelaide star Dan Houston, that Robertson could be next on their agenda.

Carlton has signed Jacob Weitering to a six-year extension, locking him away until the end of 2031.
Throughout the season, Weitering was linked with St Kilda as a player the rebuilding club should look at.
However, the All-Australian put Blues fans at ease, ensuring they knew where his loyalty lies.
"Carlton made a significant investment in me in 2015, and I couldn't imagine playing football anywhere else," Weitering said.

Brisbane wasn't given much time to replace the retiring Joe Daniher following its 2024 triumph over Sydney only a few weeks ago.
Daniher's role at the Lions proved to be pivotal during September, playing as the primary key forward as well as chopping out Oscar McInerney in the ruck.
The Queensland club admitted they would consider all options, including stop-gate candidates, which has included former Gold Coast forward Sam Day.
The inaugural Sun wasn't offered a contract by the club after 155 games but would be keen to continue his AFL career.
