Hawthorn free agent Conor Nash is said to be receiving "some real interest" from rivals, with at least one club reportedly prepared to offer a six-year deal to the Irishman.

Having been with the Hawks since the end of 2015, Nash would've first been eligible for free agency last year, however penned a two-year extension midway through 2022 to come off-contract this year instead.

The 25-year-old is one of five free agents on Hawthorn's books this year, with Harry Morrison, Cooper Stephens, Chad Wingard and premiership pair Luke Breuest and Jack Gunston also eligible.

Nash enjoyed a breakout season last year and has continued to offer Sam Mitchell a hard edge in midfield across his 18 appearances in the brown and gold in 2024.

The defensive-minded onballer is seen as a fourth-string midfield option at the Hawks, who have emerging contingent Jai Newcombe, James Worpel and Will Day at their disposal also.

With Nash's future currently unsettled, external interest in the 91-gamer has emerged.

Speaking onย SEN,ย reporter Tom Morris revealed one club has considered tabling a long-term deal to Nash, who is viewed as most likely to remain at Bunjil Bagora.

"Conor Nash at Hawthorn is a free agent and there has been some real interest for him," Morris said.

"I got told this week that a club said they're prepared to offer six years for Conor Nash. I don't know who that club is, but it's not Essendon.

"Whatever the case is, the belief from clubs now is that he'll be staying at the Hawks.

"But that's a big offer for a free agent of Conor Nash's ability."

Nash has played all 18 games for the Hawks so far this season, averaging 19.44 disposals, 5.50 tackles and 5.28 clearances as one of Mitchel's leading centre bounce attendees.

While a contract call for Nash is to come, Hawthorn have a number of moves of their own to make over the coming months as they look to strengthen their list through trade and free agency.

St Kilda defender Josh Battle has been heavily linked to the Hawks, while contracted Eagle Tom Barrass and GWS utility Harry Perryman are both said to be of interest to Hawthorn also.
