Rival clubs are said to be expressing a level of interest in Gold Coast small forward Malcolm Rosas, who is unsigned beyond this season.
Rosas has garnered external interest in recent seasons, with the 23-year-old linked to the exit at Carrara over the recent off-season before deciding to remain with the Suns.
The Darwin junior had also received rival attention in 2021 before signing a two-year deal, with his latest two-year contract now reaching an end.
Opportunities under coach Damien Hardwick have been hard to come by for Rosas, who played seven games in 2024 and is yet to feature at senior level this season.
Rosas played 34 games across the two seasons prior to Hardwick's arrival, with midfield hybrids Bailey Humphrey, Ben Ainsworth and Jake Rogers prioritised, while Ben Long has emerged as a valuable front-half asset.
The situation for Rosas, coupled with his contract expiring, has piqued the interest of rival clubs, per News Corp.
The clubs that were keen on Rosas as recently as last October are expected to rekindle their interest in the small forward across the course of the 2025 season.
The Suns will have list priorities elsewhere this year, with star midfielder Matt Rowell their biggest retention target as he weighs up his future in Queensland.
Connor Budarick, Jy Farrar, Brayden Fiorini, Nick Holman, Sean Lemmens, Alex Sexton and David Swallow are also among the senior Suns players unsigned beyond this year.
Gold Coast managed to secure key defender Sam Collins to a long-term deal through to the end of 2029 earlier this year, following the agreement with fellow backman Charlie Ballard on a deal of the same length.
