North Melbourne veteran Shaun Higgins has put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him remain at the Roos until at least the end of the 2019 season.
Higgins was already contracted next season, and has extended his deal at North Melbourne by an extra season.
The 29-year-old made the switch from the Western Bulldogs to the Roos at the end of the 2014 season, and has played 48 games for North over the past three seasons.
"As long as the club felt I could be a benefit to the team, I had no hesitation in signing an extension, knowing that I still have my best footy ahead of me," Higgins told nmfc.com.au on Friday.
"I've loved my time at Arden St and while this year has been somewhat disappointing I'm really excited by what the future holds and strongly believe we are on the right path."
Higgins has been one of North Melbourne's most consistent performers so far in 2017, and is averaging 22.1 disposals and 5.5 tackles per game, both of which are his career highs.
