North Melbourne has reportedly sounded out the services of vaunted clubland administrator Peter Jackson in an effort to help usher in a new era at Arden Street.

Having led both Essendon and Melbourne in chief executive capacities between 1996 and 2019, Jackson's experience leading rising and champion sides would provide the rebuilding Roos with a wealth of knowledge as their rebuild takes on a new face.

Though current North Melbourne CEO Ben Amarfio is still presiding in his post, incumbent president Dr. Sonja Hood is yet to confirm the embattled powerbroker's future in the wake of the wooden spooners securing Alastair Clarkson's services for the next five seasons.

Jackson has given no public indication of his professional future, however, as reported by Caroline Wilson ofย The Age, the 69-year-old was said to have played a leading hand in helping lure Clarkson back to North in his recent post as an 'unofficial consultant'.

Despite holding more than two decades of experience making kings and pulling levers at clubland, Wilson was of the view that should Jackson ink on with North, his tenure would remain a brief one.

North Melbourne is still yet to receive the full details of Geoff Walsh's review into the club's dealings, with Jackson's potential role set to be heavily linked with steering the Roos in this regard.

Walsh himself has also been raised as a potential candidate to succeed Amarfio, with multiple changes across a myriad of lines mooted ahead of the 2023 season.

Clarkson himself fanned these winds of change last Friday, stating that he would require experienced heads around him as he begins working with a youthful roster.

Former Hawthorn assistant and Melbourne skipper Todd Viney appears a near certainty to be brought in as the Roos' latest development coach, given the 56-year-old's relationship with Clarkson that stretches back to their days as teammates at the Demons during the mid-90s.

Between 2013 and his final season in 2019, Jackson helped lead the Melbourne Football Club out of the mire and back to premiership glory.

It was within this period of restructuring and reinvigoration that the suit brought Paul Roos into the Demons' fold, with the ex-Sydney steward advocating for Jackson to Hood and company earlier this year as the person best placed to replicate these deeds at North Melbourne.
