Defenders Back Pocket: Alex Witherden (Brisbane) Witherden played his best game of 2019 against the Power, amassing 27 disposals (20 kicks) at 88% efficiency, while also taking nine marks and laying two tackles. Full Back: Mark Blicavs (Geelong) Blicavs continues to thrive in Geelong’s backline. This week he amassed 22 disposals (77% efficiency) and took six marks, while keeping Adelaide key forward pair Josh Jenkins and Taylor Walker to one goal apiece. Back Pocket: Luke Ryan (Fremantle) Ryan was everywhere against the Saints, amassing 32 disposals (25 kicks) and 13 marks including six intercept marks. He was key in thwarting multiple of the Saints’ forward thrusts. Lloyd amassed 32 disposals (20 kicks) at 88% efficiency, while also taking nine marks and recording eight intercept possessions. Centre Half Back: James Frawley (Hawthorn) Frawley had the massive job on Ben Brown and did not give him an inch. Brown only kicked one goal and was only able to record two handballs in the second half. Frawley did not have a heap of the ball himself but his role on Brown was crucial in the Hawks' triumph. Half Back: Lachie Whitfield (GWS) Whitfield continues to find the footy with ease in 2019, recording 42 disposals at 76% efficiency, taking 12 marks and laying four tackles in the Giants' big win over the Tigers. Centre Wing: Shaun Higgins (North Melbourne) Higgins tried his best to keep the Kangaroos in the game but his 36 disposals at 78% efficiency, including one goal, five marks, three tackles and nine inside 50s were not enough against the Hawks. Centre: Lachie Neale (Brisbane) Neale continues to thrive as his team’s best midfielder, recording 43 disposals (25 contested), 15 clearances, one goal, four marks and three tackles in the Lions’ win over the Power. He amassed 35 disposals, took five marks and had five clearances as well as four inside 50s in the Grand Final rematch. Forwards Half Forward: Isaac Heeney (Sydney) After a slow start to 2019, Heeney returned to form in a big way against the Blues with four goals. He also amassed 26 disposals, eight marks and two tackles. Centre Half Forward: Eric Hipwood (Brisbane) The budding star showed more than a glimpse of his true potential against the Power booting six goals, including five in the first half. He also took ten marks and had 14 disposals. He amassed 15 disposals (12 kicks) and five marks while also laying two tackles. Forward Pocket: Luke Breust (Hawthorn) Breust showcased his efficiency in front of goal by kicking five goals straight from 13 disposals and five marks. Full Forward: Jeremy Cameron (GWS) Cameron now leads the Coleman Medal race by four after kicking seven goals against the Tigers, who are sorely missing the presence of Alex Rance. Cameron also recorded 30 disposals and took nine marks, showcasing his dominance on the day. Forward Pocket: Connor Rozee (Port Adelaide) In just his third game, Rozee produced an eye-catching display on Saturday night, where he kicked five goals, recorded 21 disposals, took seven marks and laid two tackles. Followers Ruck: Ben McEvoy (Hawthorn) The biggest feature of McEvoy’s game is his contested marking. His four on the weekend took his season tally to 12, second only to Harry McKay (15). McEvoy also kicked two crucial goals, had 16 disposals and took nine marks in total. Ruck Rover: Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong) Dangerfield loves to play against his former team and was massive again on Thursday night. He amassed 32 disposals (16 contested), took seven marks, laid seven tackles and kicked a crucial centre clearance goal. Against the Lions, Boak recorded 35 disposals, took five marks, laid four tackles and kicked two goals. Interchange Michael Walters (Fremantle) Walters was one of Fremantle’s best and was very influential through the midfield in the win over the Saints. He recorded 27 disposals, seven clearances, kicked two goals and laid seven tackles. Jack Martin (Gold Coast) Martin has been a huge part of the Suns' hot start to 2019. He continues to struggle with his accuracy in front of goal (one goal, four behinds) but his impact on the game cannot be questioned. He recorded 23 disposals, took seven marks and laid six tackles. Sheed kicked three crucial goals, recorded 24 disposals and took five marks. Brad Crouch (Adelaide) It finally looks like Crouch will have an injury free run at it this year and he is well and truly taking advantage of it. Against the Cats, Crouch recorded 35 disposals, took four marks and laid six tackles. He also kicked a goal and interestingly enough, is now leading the Crows' goal kicking count.
