Zero Hanger'sย MVP award is back for the 2024 AFL season, with the Opening Round seeing Gold Coast's Matthew Rowell take an early lead.

The shorter four-game round has seen Rowell become the first and only player to notch up a perfect game for the season so far, while Sydney pair Isaac Heeney and Brodie Grundy, as well as GWS forward Callum Brown, sit on the podium and also earn an early headstart.

Rowell's record-breaking outing against Richmond saw him poll five votes from all four of our experts, while fellow Suns onballers Noah Anderson and Touk Miller also polled strongly.

Gold Coast spearhead Ben King polled 12 votes for his five-goal performance, with the key forward tied with Brown atop the Coleman Medal race after the first four games.

Brown polled 18 votes for his efforts in Saturday's win over Collingwood, with fellow forward Brent Daniels and star midfielder Tom Green also among the Giants' best.

Carlton's key forward pairing of Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow led the way for the Blues, with the latter polling 15 votes, while Brisbane duo Lachie Neale and Darcy Wilmot were also among the vote-getters from the narrow clash.

Thursday's clash between Sydney and Melbourne has seen Swans teammates Brodie Grundy and Isaac Heeney tied with 18 votes each.

Melbourne's Jack Viney was unanimously voted as the next best player on the field, while Demons Steven May managed to pick up a pair of votes.
