Our Rookie Rankings have seen more movement among podium, while two young forwards are beginning to strengthen their places among the top seven after recently entering our rankings.

Just three of our top seven featured over the weekend, with byes and injury limiting the leading names among this year's rookie class during Round 14.

St Kilda debutant Arie Schoenmaker has quickly proven to be one to watch over the home stretch after putting forward a promising performance in his maiden match on Friday against Brisbane.

Selection Criteria:ย For ourย Rookie Rankings, we are ONLY selecting players who have made their debut this season.

Other players who may still be eligible for a Rising Star nomination but have already made their debut before the 2024 season will not be considered. I.e. Rising Star eligible players such as George Wardlaw, Angus Sheldrick and Sam Darcyย are ineligible, having already played anย AFL match before Round 1, 2024.ย

Honourable Mentions:
Arie Schoenmaker (St Kilda)
Nick Watson (Hawthorn)
Harvey Gallagher (Western Bulldogs)

7. Calsher Dear (-)

It was another performance Hawks fans are coming to expect from their father-son draft recruit, with Dear's high-flying efforts catching the eye once again.

The athletic tall forward's aerial impact and follow-up work at ground-level were again important, with Dear's effort obvious through the acts that aren't written down on the stats sheet.

The teenager still booted two goals from just five disposals - all of which were contested in Saturday's win over Richmond.

The Hawks will have their bye this weekend, and it would take a dominant performance from an outsider to take Dear's spot at seventh in our Rookie Rankings.
