Our Rookie Rankings have seen more movement among podium, while two young forwards are beginning to strengthen their places among the top seven after recently entering our rankings.
Just three of our top seven featured over the weekend, with byes and injury limiting the leading names among this year's rookie class during Round 14.
St Kilda debutant Arie Schoenmaker has quickly proven to be one to watch over the home stretch after putting forward a promising performance in his maiden match on Friday against Brisbane.
Selection Criteria:ย For ourย Rookie Rankings, we are ONLY selecting players who have made their debut this season.
Other players who may still be eligible for a Rising Star nomination but have already made their debut before the 2024 season will not be considered. I.e. Rising Star eligible players such as George Wardlaw, Angus Sheldrick and Sam Darcyย are ineligible, having already played anย AFL match before Round 1, 2024.ย
Honourable Mentions:
Arie Schoenmaker (St Kilda)
Nick Watson (Hawthorn)
Harvey Gallagher (Western Bulldogs)
6. Logan Morris (-)
Another big performance from the first-year forward, who booted three goals against the Saints in a 20-point win at the Gabba.
That takes his season tally to 11 majors from just six games, with Morris nicely complementing senior duo Joe Danhier and Eric Hipwood in Chris Fagan's attacking third.
The Western Jets graduate stood tall when the Saints narrowed the margin late too, with a 50-metre penalty being awarded before Morris slotted his final goal of the night to end a three-goal run for the travelling side.
