Our Rookie Rankings have seen more movement among podium, while two young forwards are beginning to strengthen their places among the top seven after recently entering our rankings.
Just three of our top seven featured over the weekend, with byes and injury limiting the leading names among this year's rookie class during Round 14.
St Kilda debutant Arie Schoenmaker has quickly proven to be one to watch over the home stretch after putting forward a promising performance in his maiden match on Friday against Brisbane.
Selection Criteria: For our Rookie Rankings, we are ONLY selecting players who have made their debut this season.
Other players who may still be eligible for a Rising Star nomination but have already made their debut before the 2024 season will not be considered. I.e. Rising Star eligible players such as George Wardlaw, Angus Sheldrick and Sam Darcy are ineligible, having already played an AFL match before Round 1, 2024.Â
Honourable Mentions:
Arie Schoenmaker (St Kilda)
Nick Watson (Hawthorn)
Harvey Gallagher (Western Bulldogs)
4. Sam Clohesy (-)
One of three rookies on our list who had a bye over the weekend, with Clohesy's place in our rankings often floating around the middle-range mark in our top seven.
His return this weekend, coupled with McKercher's expected continued absence, should see the reigning Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal winner hold his place in fourth for another week at least.
