St Kilda have released a statement denying reports that Bradley Hill and Paddy Ryder were disciplined following a "verbal exchange" that took place the day after the Saints' Round 14 loss to Essendon.
Both Hill and Ryder were absent for the Saints' 51-point mauling at the hands of the Swans, with the club confirming last week that Hill was to miss for personal reasons, while Ryder would be sidelined due to ongoing management of the 34-year-old.
After media reports surfaced of the incident, the Saints were quick to squash any misinformation.
"Reports this evening stating that Paddy Ryder and Bradley Hill were not part of the Saints’ Round 15 team due to disciplinary reasons are incorrect," the statement read.
"Both Ryder and Hill, accompanied by another teammate, attended a venue in Mordialloc on the Saturday after our Round 14 match against Essendon on the Friday night.
"Following a verbal exchange and disagreement with fellow patrons, all three left the venue without a fight ensuing.
"As previously communicated by the Club, this incident had no impact on selection, with Ryder missing due to ongoing management and Hill for personal reasons which meant that he was unable to train on both Monday and Tuesday and not in a condition to take his place in the side against the Swans."
Ryder himself weighed into reports online, denying that he was involved in any altercation.
"I wasn't involved in any altercation which has come through the media outlets tonight," Ryder tweeted.
"Just want to make that clear."
The Saints are currently facing an uphill battle to secure a finals spot after a recent form slump, having not won a game since their Round 12 bye.
Brett Ratten's men will next face the surging Blues on Friday night, before big tests against Fremantle and the Western Bulldogs.
