St Kilda list manager James Gallagher has confirmed that Seb Ross will remain at the club next year.
The 27-year old comes out of contract at the end of next year, and has won the two of the last four club best and fairests at the Saints.
Speaking on AFL Trade Radioโs Trade Exchange on Friday, Gallagher quashed the rumours that Ross was on the way out, saying that he is a required player in 2021.
โI read the scuttlebutt about him being seen somewhere else next year and I was reliably informed that it was rubbish in the end,โ he said.
โHeโll certainly be with us next yearโฆ Heโs been an excellent player for our footy and is not in his declining years.โ
With the recent acquisition of Adelaideโs Brad Crouch from Free Agency, Gallagher insists that Ross is primed for a big year, even with the talented ex-Crow set to play a starring role in the middle.
โHeโs going to prepare himself to have a really big year next year with Brad in the midfield and a couple of other guys in the middle as well.โ He said.
Gallagher also gave his take about the Saintsโ chances of acquiring Collingwoodโs Adam Treloar, saying it was "unlikely" he would join the club.
โWe all hate Adam Treloarโ is what I got. https://t.co/PRPB8rOh7Q

โItโs unlikelyโฆ Thereโs no point in pursuing that and leading anyone on to give any sense of false hope for the player and for us as a club,โ he said.
โEveryone is subject to the list sizes and cap spaces, the discussion there has raced a long way ahead of any discussion weโve had with Adamโs management which hasnโt progressed really at all.
โI donโt think weโll meet with Adam and thatโs nothing against him as he seems like a fantastic lad.โ
