Young Saints key defender Oscar Clavarino will make his long-awaited AFL debut, 1283 days after he was drafted to the club.
St Kilda confirmed on Thursday afternoon that the 22-year old would get his first opportunity at senior level in Saturday's Marvel Stadium clash against North Melbourne.
He becomes the Saints' third debutant this season, joining Tom Highmore and Paul Hunter.
Clavarino was drafted by St Kilda out of the Dandenong Stingrays with Pick 35 in the 2017 AFL draft in a class where the club also recruited Hunter Clark, Nick Coffield and Ben Paton.
Brett Ratten's side will be looking to bounce back from last week's disastrous 111-point loss to the Western Bulldogs, currently sitting 14th on the ladder at 4-6.
Saturday's contest between St Kilda and North Melbourne will be played in front of no crowd following the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria, forcing a seven-day circuit-breaker lockdown
