Hawthorn senior coach Sam Mitchell has jetted off to England to link up with quickly-adored Premier League manager Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou, an Australian coaching maestro with a glittering international football resume, is in the midst of his maiden season managing English football juggernaut Tottenham Hotspur.
Postecoglou has made fast work of winning Spurs fans' hearts; winning six of his first eight domestic games in charge, going undefeated in that period.
Hawthorn's Mitchell is understood to be abroad with assistant coach Adrian Hickmott, undertaking an educational venture in hopes of progressing their professional development as AFL mentors.
During their Spurs tour, the pair will meet with 'various staff members' across multiple areas in order to gain an expansive understanding of the club's operation as well as further their own development, per AFL Media journalist Cal Twomey's report on Monday.
It isn't Mitchell's first time cruising Hotspur Way, however, having visited the club's headquarters in 2019; his first year on Hawthorn's coaching panel.
The former Hawks skipper also visited Postecoglou in the last year of his decorated stint as Celtic manager before greeting the former A-League boss in Perth, when his Spurs toured the Western Australian capital earlier this year.
Mitchell's Hawks recently capped a thrilling trade period, during which Hawthorn unexpectedly acquired Collingwood livewire Jack Ginnivan, Gold Coast Suns forward Mabior Chol, Essendon defender Massimo D'Ambrosio, and reunited with premiership hero Jack Gunston.
In turn, the Waverley club offloaded forwards Brandon Ryan and Jacob Koschitzke to the Brisbane Lions and Richmond, respectively.
The club now shifts its attention to this year's National Draft -- scheduled to commence on November 20 -- where it enters proceedings at pick No. 4.
