The 2025 SANFL season will kick off with a slate of blockbuster clashes after the league released the first round of matches yesterday.ย
Starting on the customary last weekend of March, reigning premier Glenelg will get the season underway with a Friday night encounter against old foe Port Adelaide at Alberton on March 28.
Norwood will also host a game under lights when it takes on North Adelaide at The Parade on Saturday, March 29, at 7:10 pm.ย
The game doubles as the weekend's feature match that will be broadcast live on Channel 7.
Fierce rivals Central District and Woodville-West Torrens will face off on Saturday afternoon at Elizabeth in a crunch clash between two of last year's finalists.
Saturday afternoon will also see West Adelaide host the Crows at Richmond, and Sturt trek down to Noarlunga to take on the Panthers.
The confirmation of the season's start date ensures there will be two rounds of SANFL action before the league-wide bye for Gather Round on April 10-13.
Meanwhile, the opening round of the SANFLW competition has also been locked in for the weekend of 15-16 March.
A grand final rematch between South Adelaide and Norwood headlines the action in a bumper Saturday night clash at Noarlunga, while two of last year's competition heavyweights, Central District and Glenelg, will meet on Sunday afternoon.
Woodville-West Torrens will host Sturt on Saturday afternoon, while West Adelaide and North Adelaide will close out the round at Richmond on Sunday.
