The SANFL has settled on a 23-player side for this weekend's clash with the VFL in Tanunda, with eight of the 10 clubs set to represent the competition on Saturday.

Reigning premiers Glenelg make up more than a third of the team, having eight players selected, with key forward Liam McBean named as captain of the SANFL side.

McBean is one of 13 ex-AFL-listed players in the side, which includes returned Woodville-West Torrens tall Jack Hayes and Port Adelaide recruit Jez McLennan.

Eight players are in line to make their SANFL representative debuts, with ex-Sydney forward James Bell and West Adelaide's Kobe Ryan among the new faces.

North Adelaide's Harrison Wigg and Sturt's Will Coomblas have been named as vice-captains, with Glenelg's Darren Reeves to coach the side.

Magarey Medal winner Harry Grant and Sturt's Casey Voss have been named as emergencies for the Croweaters

The showcase game is scheduled for 2:45pm local time on Saturday at Barossa Park.
