Geelong coach Chris Scott is confident we will not see Gary Ablett's undisciplined side again after an ill-directed punch cost the star his first suspension of his career.

Ablett was handed a one-game ban for striking Suns midfielder Anthony Miles on the chin last Saturday, a charge Scott admitted the Cats had no chance of challenging.

"He can't explain it," Scott told afl.com.au.

"So given that, let's not make up a fictitious reason, let's move on and concentrate on what sort of behaviour we are going to see into the future.

"I've got complete confidence that he knows what he needs to do from here."

Ablett has come under scrutiny in recent weeks for a number of high profile incidents. The 35-year-old successfully challenged a one-week ban for a high hit on Essendon's Dylan Shiel and a similar bump on Kangaroo Sam Wright.

The Cats could be bolstered by the return of Patrick Dangerfield, who missed last week's win over Gold Coast with an ankle injury.
