The Cats have lost plenty of talent this week, but will also receive a welcome boost to its undermanned side for its crucial clash with Richmond on Saturday afternoon.
Tom Hawkins (two matches) and Mitch Duncan (one match) have been suspended, while skipper Joel Selwood will miss at least the next three weeks due to an ankle injury.
But coach Chris Scott confirmed on Thursday forward Daniel Menzel and live wire Steven Motlop will both return after two weeks on the sidelines.
Motlop has been battling a groin injury, while Menzel has been experiencing soreness in his knee.
"It's impossible to replace some of the guys we've got going out. But we have some confidence in the quality we'll bring back," Scott said.
"Menzel and Motlop will play.
"We're very confident in Menzel and Motlop. We've been so clear in what our aims have been in their preparation.
"We weren't going to play them unless they hit certain benchmarks and they have well and truly done that."
Geelong's replacement for the suspended Tom Hawkins is less certain, with several options on the table.
Rhys Stanley could return, while the Cats may also opt to throw Harry Taylor forward once again.
"We don't have a player that's exactly the same as Hawkins, so we won't follow exactly the same format," Scott said.
Meanwhile, the Cats will also regain star onballer Patrick Dangerfield, who will return from his one-game ban for a dangerous tackle on Carlton's Matthew Kreuzer.
