The 2021 season was full of impressive goals, marks and memorable wins, but some feel-good stories emerged too as the league and the country adjusted to a new look AFL season.

6. Spud's Game
Eighteen months after the tragic passing of club legend Danny Frawley, St Kilda honoured the man known as 'Spud' in a Round 2 game against Melbourne.
Under the roof at Marvel Stadium, the Saints celebrated the life and legacy of Frawley, unveiling the Time 2 Talk initiative, encouraging people to check in on their mates and promote candid conversations of mental health around the country.
The Saints all wore the No.2 on their jumpers during the warm-up, a tribute to Frawley, and joined with Melbourne players and the umpires in the centre square before the bounce.

Garry Lyon, Tony Lockett and Stewart Loewe joined the players, speaking to the gathered crowd and those at home about the importance of speaking up and paying tribute to Frawley.
The Saturday night match was scheduled to start at 7:25 but was delayed by two minutes to give those watching an opportunity to spend the time checking up on their mates, a fitting tribute to a legend of the game.
