West Coast veteran has retained the club's captaincy on a solo basis, extending his leadership run at Laithlain into a fourth season.
Shuey, 32, received the green light to continue his tenure as skipper after both a player vote and the say of the club's coaching staff.
The 2018 Norm Smith medallist was officially endorsed by Eagles' powerbrokers on Tuesday afternoon.
Shuey will be ably aided by West Coast's key defensive pillars, with Jeremy Govern and Tom Barrass ratified as vice-captains.
Barrass was elevated to the role after a stellar 2022 season that saw him claim John Worsfold Medal honours, as well as a spot within the wider All-Australian squad.
In a sign of the times out west, decorated ruckman Nic Naitainui stepped out of leading class, making way for Barass to take on the role.
Naitanui was joined by premiership captain Shannon Hurn in not seeking a formal leadership position for the 2023 season.
Within a statement from the Perth-based club, West Coast's General Manager, Gavin Bell, strongly endorsed the trio, stressing each had the wider support of the entire club.
“Luke has enjoyed strong support from the player group over the last three years and that sentiment carried through in the process this season,” Bell said.
“He was keen to continue in the role and we are delighted he will remain as captain.
“Jeremy has been a vice-captain to Luke for each of the last three years and he has been joined by Tom who has demonstrated his leadership qualities, both on and off-field, for several years.”
Following a 2021 season in which he took the field on just seven occasions, Shuey found larger pockets of fitness throughout 2022, making 17 appearances during the Eagles' year to forget.
Having completed a strong body of work over the summer, the hard-nosed ball-winner will be hoping to make every post a winner in 2023, both individually and as a collective.
Shuey and the Eagles will kickstart their road back to September with a pair of pre-season fixtures against Port Adelaide (Thursday, February 23) and Adelaide (Friday, March 3)
Both will take place at the club's headquarters at Mineral Resources Park.
West Coast's season proper will commence when they travel to face North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, March 18.
