Following a frenetic Wednesday of dealings, day four of this year's trade period was oddly quiet, though it still threw up numerous movement rumblings.

We're less than seven days out from the 2023 exchange period deadline, and there's plenty of business to sort before the end of this year's jam-packed window.

While Clayton Oliver again dominated the headlines -- this time for non-football-related reasons -- here's all the latest trade news from another frantic day of the off-season.

Geelong eyeing Power forward as part of defender's exchange

The Cats reportedly inquired with Port Adelaide about the possibility of nabbing key forward Ollie Lord as part of Geelong's offloading of wantaway defender Esava Ratugolea.

The Cats are said to be demanding a draft choice in the 20s for Ratugolea, as its hierarchical leaders turn their attention to a young goalkicker in the stalling deal.

St Kilda may miss out on compo for departing forward

The Bombers could land restricted free agent Saint Jade Gresham via the Pre-Season Draft instead of free agency, which would see St Kilda miss out on a compensatory draft choice.

According to a report, the Bombers are prepared to table Gresham a lucrative deal and walk him to the PSD to avoid the potential of St Kilda matching their offer sheet.

Perhaps one of the more pertinent pieces of movement news on a slow day, St Kilda defender Nick Coffield is nearly confirmed for a switch to the Western Bulldogs.

According to SEN reporter Tom Morris on Thursday afternoon, a deal sending Coffield to the Kennel is set to be lodged and approved within the next 24 hours.
