Fremantle is reportedly readying themselves to lose talent across all three lines of their roster by the completion of their season, with as many as six current Dockers set to haul in their anchors out west.
At present, Rory Lobb, Griffin Logue, Blake Acres, Lloyd Meek, Darcy Tucker and premiership Pup Joel Hamling appear set to be plying their trade elsewhere in 2023.
According to reports from Kim Hagdorn of News Ltd, the sextet of names are all tipped to find new homes during the sign and trade period as Fremantle's multi-million dollar effort to draw Luke Jackson back across the Nullarbor appears as good as done.
Logue, 24, is seen as a lock to join in North Melbourne's chorus next season, with the swingman said to have been tabled a lucrative deal to trade Cockburn for Arden Street.
Acres (Carlton), Lobb (Western Bulldogs), Tucker (North) and Meek (GWS) are also in line to make East Coast moves by September's end.
“Fremantle has gone back to Logue with an increased offer, but it is nowhere near the offer that is on the table from North Melbourne for Griffin Logue,” Hagdorn told SEN WA listeners.
“Once Fremantle has played their last game, Rory Lobb, Blake Acres, Griffin Logue and Lloyd Meek are all expected to ask for trades.
“It’s tight-lipped at the moment because the understanding amongst those players and their agents and Fremantle is, ‘let’s just shut up about it and try and win a semi-final, win a prelim, get into a grand final and see what can happen then’.
“I think you’ll even find some scurrilous speculation that some of these boys are going to stay at Fremantle now because I think Fremantle is trying their darndest to keep it under wraps until (their season is over).
“Griffin Logue, a really good offer for four years at North Melbourne, it was an increased offer from Fremantle, but nothing like what he’s going to get in the eastern states.”
Each of the soon-to-be departing collective will be afforded an opportunity to acclimatise to life outside of the west, with Fremantle uprooting themselves for the remainder of their finals campaign, setting up camp in Melbourne ahead of Saturday's do-or-die date with the Pies.
The cessation of the Dockers' campaign will also spell the end of David Munday's decorated career in the purple and the white.
Saturday night's clash against Collingwood at the MCG will be Mundy's 376th at AFL level, a figure that will see him eclipse Carlton legend Craig Bradley for the eighth rung on the all-time games played ledger.
Should Fremantle's season be capped with just their second grand final appearance in their history, the 37-year-old will end his career tied with Essendon champion Simon Madden with 378 senior games to his name.
