Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith has been suspended for two matches after being charged with headbutting by the Match Review Officer following an altercation with Geelong's Zach Tuohy on Friday night.
The incident in question occurred at quarter-time in the match between the Bulldogs and Cats at Marvel Stadium, with Smith making high contact with Tuohy amid a melee between the two sides.
Smith's action gained the attention of the MRO, who scrutinised the Bulldog and subsequently handed Smith a two-game ban.
The MRO deemed the incident as Intentional Conduct, Medium Impact and High Contact, resulting in the suspension.
Smith has accepted the two-week ban, meaning he will miss his side's coming matches against the Giants and Hawks following the Bulldogs' Round 13 bye.
Meanwhile, Tuohy has been charged with Other Misconduct, which has resulted in a $1000 fine
The incident, which occurred in the melee with Smith, was initially classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence by the MRO.
